Birdwatching or birding has long been a joy and pastime for Irving Warner. His travels across the continental United States and from Alaska to Hawaii have allowed him to study a variety of birds in diverse ecosystems.
Always with binoculars and often with a spotting scope, Warner can focus quickly on a bird recognized by its identifying call or a flash of wing. Since many bird species are more readily detected and identified by ear than by eye, Warner has a broad knowledge of bird calls.
